  Boog is a 900-pound grizzly bear who is content entertaining tourists and living in park ranger Beth's barn. Boog's life takes a drastic turn when he rescues a one-horned mule deer named Elliot from a hunter but is then subsequently tranquilized and returned to the wild. Elliot and Boog recruit a number of other animals, most notably a Scottish squirrel and a beaver foreman, in an attempt to turn the tables on the hunters and once again make the woods safe.
