Fuel Program FAQs

Q: How does the fuel program work?

A: The fuel program allows you to receive savings of up to $1 off per gallon on fuel purchases at participating BP or Amoco gas stations in the state of WI. You may redeem 100 fuel points at participating BP or Amoco gas stations for a 10¢ off per gallon savings, up to 1,000 fuel points in a single fill-up. For each increment of 100 fuel points redeemed at BP or Amoco, 10¢ off per gallon will be awarded. Program discount is good for one purchase of fuel, up to 35 gallons. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transaction at the dispenser. Offer cannot be combined with any other discounts.

For example:

  • 100 fuel points = 10¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at participating BP or Amoco gas stations.
  • 200 fuel points = 20¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at participating BP or Amoco gas stations.
  • 1,000 fuel points = $1 off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at participating BP or Amoco gas stations.

Q: How do I earn fuel points?

A: There are three easy ways to earn fuel points in Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market stores every day:

  1. Spending on Groceries (normal exclusions apply): $1 in Groceries = 1 fuel point.
  2. Double fuel points for most Gift Card purchases (normal exclusions apply). For example, $25 in Gift Cards = 50 fuel points.
  3. Non-federally funded Prescriptions: 1 Prescription = 50 fuel points. (Federally funded Prescriptions earn 1 point for every $1 of your out-of-pocket costs for new, transferred and refilled Prescriptions.)

Q: Do gift card purchases count towards fuel points?

A: Yes. Gift Card purchases count 2X toward your fuel points monthly balance, with the exception of Kroger and Kroger Family of Stores Gift Cards (Pick ‘n Save or Metro Market gift cards), Green Dot prepaid reloadable products, MoneyPaks, American Express Variable Load Gift Cards, Visa Variable Load Gift Cards, MasterCard Variable Load Gift Cards, Prepaid Long Distance Airtime Cards, Scan Activated Phones, BP Gift Cards and Amoco Gift Cards.

Q: Is there a limit to how many fuel points I can earn?

A: No, there is not a limit on the number of fuel points you can earn.

Q: How do I keep track of my fuel points?

A: Your current fuel points balance is located at the bottom of your receipt. You may also check your points balance on our website or on the Pick ‘n Save or Metro Market mobile app for your iPhone or Android device by registering your Fresh Perks Card number.

Q: Where is the program running?

A: To find your nearest redemption location, click here for a current list of participating BP or Amoco gas stations in your area.

Q: Does my fuel discount work with any grade of gas?

A: The Fuel Program allows you to use your fuel points at participating BP or Amoco gas stations on one purchase of up to 35 gallons of unleaded, mid-grade, premium, diesel or E85. Not all stations may have all grades.

Q: What is the maximum number of gallons of gas I can purchase with my fuel points?

A: Fuel points apply to a maximum of 35 gallons on one purchase of fuel at a participating BP or Amoco gas station.

Q: How do I redeem my fuel points at a BP or Amoco gas station?

A: To use your points at a participating BP or Amoco gas station, simply insert your Fresh Perks Card into the credit card reader or key in your phone number on the key pad. You will then be prompted to apply your discount if you have more than 100 points in either this month’s balance or last month’s balance. Finally, present your form of payment.

Q: Is there a limit to how many fuel points I can redeem at a time?

A: There is a limit of 1,000 fuel points which can be redeemed for up to 1 dollar off per gallon at participating BP or Amoco gas stations in a single transaction. Fuel savings are limited to a single purchase of up to 35 gallons of fuel. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transactions at the dispenser. Offer can't be combined with any other discounts.

Q: What is the lowest price I can pay for fuel when using my rewards?

A: BP and Amoco dispensers are not permitted to discount fuel below $.109 per gallon. The pump will always give you the maximum possible discount available based on your highest point balance. If your rewards value is greater than the price and the minimum, you may see rewards deducted in increments not equal to 100 (for example 950 points deducted vs 900). For example: if the price of fuel is $.95 per gallon, you have 900 fuel points, the pump will give you an $.84 per gallon discount (since the pump can't go below $.109 per gallon), you will have the fuel points deducted for the $.84 per gallon discount (840 fuel points).

Q: Can I choose to use last month’s fuel points first?

A: No, we will always offer our customers the largest months points first.

Q: Can I choose to use a portion of my fuel points at BP or Amoco gas stations?

A: This option is not available at BP or Amoco gas stations.

Q: If I have fuel points available, am I required to use them?

A: No. Here’s how you can save your discount for later. At BP or Amoco gas stations: If you do not want to use your savings at the fuel pump, do not insert your Fresh Perks Card when purchasing fuel or select No when prompted to apply your discount.

Q: When I have more than 100 fuel points from last month and the current month, which fuel points are used first?

A: We will always offer you your highest unredeemed discount first. Click here for an example.
