Melon Stick Trick
June 6, 2024 1 Minute Read
Crisp watermelon, sweet cantaloupe and tangy honeydew are prime for the picking in summer — and oh-so-refreshing. That’s why they make the ultimate light-yet-satisfying bite. You’ll hardly miss chips and dip with these super-snackable sticks that will have you feeling as good as they taste!
What You’ll Need:
- Ripe summer melons: cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon
- Sharp chef’s knife
- Cutting board
- Spoon
How-To:
- Prep melons. Wash rinds thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Dry fully.
- Cut melons. Cut off tops and bottoms to create two flat sides. Place one flat side on work surface so other flat side is on top. Carefully remove rind by cutting downward and rotating melon as you go.
- Remove seeds. Cut melons in half and use a spoon to scoop out seeds and fibers, if needed.
- Make matchsticks. Place one half flat-side down and cut lengthwise into ¼-inch strips. While holding strips together, cut strips crosswise. Repeat with other halves.
- Plate and enjoy. Serve melon matchsticks with your favorite fruit dip, or dust with tajín seasoning.
