How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
It’s easy to enjoy coffeehouse-style drinks at home. With a batch of this DIY cold brew coffee concentrate, you can mix up deliciously cool creations.
1. Add the coffee
Pour 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee into a large glass jar.
2. Add the water
Pour 2 cups of cool water over the coffee grounds. Cover and shake until the coffee and water are thoroughly combined. Let stand at room temperature at least 12 hours.
3. Strain the mixture
Place a fine mesh strainer over a second large jar or pitcher. Line the strainer with a coffee filter. Slowly pour the coffee mixture through the strainer. Wait for all the liquid to drain through, pressing down on the grounds, if necessary. Discard the grounds. Refrigerate the liquid coffee concentrate in a sealed container up to 2 weeks.
4. Enjoy!
Add milk and ice to make a traditional iced coffee.
Chill Drinks Using Coffee Concentrate
Raspberry Mocha Freeze
In a blender, combine 1 cup ice, ⅔ cup concentrate, ¼ cup half-and-half, ⅓ cup raspberries, 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup and 2 tablespoons sugar. Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass, garnishing with whipped topping, chocolate syrup and fresh raspberries.
Caramel-Almond Iced Coffee
In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons caramel sauce and ½ cup sweetened almondmilk. Fill a glass almost full with ice. Pour in caramel-milk mixture and ½ cup concentrate. Stir to combine. Finish with whipped topping and caramel sauce.
Serve beverages immediately, refrigerating any leftovers.
