In just 30 minutes, you can transform this hearty green into a satisfying snack.

  • Kale
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder

  1. Thoroughly wash 1 bunch kale and allow to fully dry.
  2. On cutting board, cut spine from leaves; discard spine and cut leaves into pieces. Be careful not to cut them too small, as they will shrink significantly.
  3. Place kale pieces in bowl and toss with about 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon each salt and pepper, and 2 teaspoons garlic powder.
  4. Spread kale evenly on bottom of air fryer basket, then place rack on top (to keep kale in place). Air fry in batches at 400°F, 5–7 minutes. Check chips halfway to make sure they are not burning — the edges should brown, but not turn black. If using oven, spread chips evenly on baking sheet without overlapping. Bake at 300°F, 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Let chips cool, then serve with your favorite dip — or add a sprinkle of chili pepper flakes to make them spicy. Store leftovers in an airtight container 4–5 days.
